Title:
Empire State Building, New York City
This 102-story skyscrper is a monument of the emergence of the mega industrialists of the early 20th century. It stands in midtown Manhatten at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. For more than fourty years it was the world's tallest building from its completion in 1931 until 1972 when construction of the World Trade Center's North Tower was complete. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York City and New York State.

It now is the second tallest skyscraper in the Americas (surpassed only by Chicago's Sears Tower-Willis Tower) and the 11th tallest in the world. One can take the elevator all the way to the top observation floor and catch a glimpse of amazing views as far as the eye can see. The architecture is in the classic style of Art Deco so prevalant of the 1930's.
